Title:1 killed, 3 seriously wounded in shootout at Avondale gas station

A man was killed and three other people were seriously wounded in a shootout at a gas station in Avondale on the Northwest Side early Tuesday, according to Chicago police.

Two groups had pulled into the station in the 3000 block of West Belmont Avenue around 2:45 a.m., police said. Two men and two women were in a Nissan Pathfinder, and a man and two women were in a Honda, according to police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.

A man got out of each car and they began arguing, then throwing punches, he said. Two other people, one from each car, pulled guns and began firing.

Omar Campuzano, 25, was shot several times and was pronounced dead at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said. He had been in the Nissan, and had lived in the 3100 block of North Drake Avenue.

A 24-year-old woman was hit in the neck and was listed in critical condition at Stroger Hospital, police said.

Two men — 20 and 37 -- suffered multiple gunshot wounds and were listed in serious conditon at Masonic and Stroger.

Police said two guns were recovered at the scene. Detectives were reviewing surveillance video.
